Every day an ultimate amount of data like living patterns is collected from smart home devices and mostly there is no easy way for the users to control this data collection or get an easy overview of the collected data. This way of getting data is in our opinion no longer sustainable. Without the users consent to collect and process data or at least clear information about what’s happening with the data, users trust is completely lost. Furthermore, it is getting more complicated from day to day for smart home providers to perform these tasks due to law regulations. And that is why we as APOCRAT are developing a product that helps smart home providers create privacy friendly and legally compliant products, build trust and ultimately put the users back in control over their own data. Therefore, we are creating the first consent management system for smart home devices.
